Should Mane’s injury be serious, it will be a huge blow to Jurgen Klopp’s side who have enjoyed a solid pre-season and opening day victory.
Mane, who joined from Southampton in a £30million deal, has impressed for the Merseyside club with his pace and direct running.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have distanced themselves from reports in Spain that they have opened negotiations with Valencia for defender Shkodran Mustafi.
Valencia are still awaiting what they consider a serious offer from Arsenal for the Germany international.
