Few days to the Governorship and House of Assembly Elections, the former state chairman of PDP, Chief Sony Abang defected to APC.

APC National Vice Chairman (South-South), Prince Hilliard Eta, who received the defectors after the party’s stake holders meeting in Calabar commended them for deciding to join the progressive fold in Cross River.
Prince Eta disclosed that APC’s victory during the presidential election and the party’s victory in several states was a clear indication of the party’s acceptability across the country.
Meanwhile, APC members in the state have called for the immediate dissolution of the party leadership in Cross River.
At a stakeholders meeting convened by the National Vice Chairman (South-South) of the party Prince Hilliard Eta, aggrieved APC members blamed the poor outing of the party in the presidential, governorship and House of Assembly elections on the party leaders.

They also alleged that the party’s candidates were forced to use their personal funds to campaign as they were starved of funds.
