Manchester City are closing in on the £50million capture of midfielder Kevin De Bruyne .
City remain locked in talks with Wolfsburg over a deal to sign De Bruyne, with confirmation of an agreement over the fee involved expected within the next 48 hours.
Former Chelsea star De Bruyne is set to become City’s sixth signing of the summer after Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph, Nicolas Otamendi, Patrick Roberts and Enes Unal.
The anticipated capture of De Bruyne, who has been offered a five-year deal worth £200,000-a-week, will take City’s summer spending through the £150m barrier.
Argentine defender Otamendi became City’s fifth signing on Thursday in a deal believed to be worth £32m.
