A 38-year-old man, Mr Bulus Tsanmani slumped and died while queuing to vote at a polling unit in Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, during Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
The Public Relations Officer of Bauchi State Police Command, DSP Haruna Muhammad confirmed that the incident occurred while the man was waiting to be accredited to enable him vote during governorship and state assembly elections.
“On the 11/4/2015 at about 15:30hrs,one Mr Bulus Tsanmani male and 38years of Gwaranga ward in Bogoro LGA slumped on queue while awaiting to be accredited at his polling unit in gwaranga ward of Bogor local government,” he said.
He said police patrol team attached to Bogoro division visited the scene and rushed the victim to General Hospital, Bogoro, for treatment, where he was later certified dead by a medical doctor, saying that the corpse of the deceased was deposited at the mortuary for postmortem examination.
