Manufacturers in Ogun State
have been advised to key into the
various policies and programmes
initiated by Government to make
their operations stress free.
The Commissioner for
Commerce and Industry, Otunba
Bimbo Ashiru gave the advice in
Abeokuta at the 5th Edition of
the quarterly meeting of the State
Government and Manufacturers
Association of Nigeria, MAN,
Ogun State branch.
Ashiru said the haulage sticker
introduced recently was meant
to reduce cost as well as make it
easier for them to ply the State
roads without harassment.
He urged stakeholders in the
sector not to leave everything in
the hands of government, adding
that they should endeavour to
contribute their quota to the
development of the State.
“You need to partner with
Government in resolving the
various challenges confronting
you, adopt peaceful approach
and avoid confrontation,” he
The Commissioner appealed
to them to promptly pay their
levies and taxes to enable
government carry out its various
developmental programmes.
On the issue of failed feeder
roads, Ashiru said Government
would focus attention on them
as soon as the main roads
are completed, stressing that
the manufacturers should
collaborate with Government
in reconstructing the roads near
them as it was done in OPIC
Estate, Agbara.
Also speaking, the Chairman,
Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government,
Hon. Rotimi Rahman implored
the manufacturers to continue
to sustain the existing cordial
relationship between them and
