Former factional publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State, Mohammed Bello, has called on the governor Mai Mala Buni led caretaker committee to set up a caretaker committee to oversee the affairs of the party following a court order dissolving all party leadership in the State.

Bello, who belongs to the Senator Kabiru Marafa faction, stated this while presenting a copy of the court ruling to the secretary of the caretaker committee, John Akapan Udouedehe, at the party secretariat in Abuja.

A high court sitting in Gusau, Zamfara state had on the 7th of August, 2020 nullified all parallel congresses organised by the factions belonging to former governor Abdulazeez Yari, and that of the former senator kabiru Marafa, that produced party leadership in the State due to the lingering crisis that engulfed the party since 2018.

Bello lamented that as a result of that crisis the APC in Zamfara has lost everything and failed woefully.

He therefore called on the caretaker committee to investigate and punish everyone found culpable in the misfortune that befell the party.

Bello said, “We lost the governor’s seat, we lost all the senatorial seats and House of Representatives including the state assembly. And now, the court has dissolved all party leadership in Zamfara. You can see this is too much for party members.

“So we are here now to call on the caretakers of this great party under the leadership of his excellency, Mai Mala Buni to look inward and use his wisdom as a former secretary of this party and now executive member of the NEC, to look and truly dig deep and get to the root cause to know who is at fault on this issue. And not only that, in fact we are calling on them to make sure to punish whoever causes all these loses in Zamfara state.”

“Already the damage has been done. It is the court judgement that we brought to them just for them to know that there is no APC leadership in Zamfara state and measures have to be taken to safe the party.”
