A group under the aegis of Dan Onjeh Volunteer Network has alleged that Senator David Mark, representing the Benue South senatorial district in the Senate was not in any way sincere with the Idoma people during the 16 years he held sway as the senator representing Idoma people.
The Director of Communication and Strategy of the Network, Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi who stated this in a statement signed and made available to journalists yesterday in Abuja, alleged that David Mark does not represent any hope of emancipation for the Idoma race.
According to him, the visit of Senator David Mark to the palace of the Ochi Idoma, Elias Obekpa is an indication that he is ready to do everything possible to be re-elected to the Senate after ignoring every courtesy that befits the Och’Idoma throughout his 16 year reign as a senator.
He said it is ridiculous that David Mark has suddenly realized that there is an Idoma race and not David Mark family alone in Benue State.
The group urged the people to vote for a genuine emancipator which the APC candidate, Comrade Dan Onjeh represents in every ramification and not given to the temptation of looking back to vote David Mark.
According to the statement, “Let it be known to our former senator and his co-travelers in their infamy that the people of Zone C have decided to support the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Dan Onjeh in the forthcoming rerun senatorial election in Benue South Senatorial District and there is no looking back.”
“We were shocked to see that our own emperor has suddenly repented to visit the Ochi’Idoma’s palace, drive in an open roof car and even has the courtesy to exchange pleasantries with the common people whose interest he abandoned for personal gains. This to us is a grand display of the funniest comedy of the year 2015 though is still not enough to sway the voters when they shall match to elect Dan Onjeh as their Senator.
“We would like to call on our former Senator and his handlers to learn to tell our people nothing but the truth about all the money he has collected on our behalf, the no of his houses that he has built for himself and children in and outside Nigeria, and how he mortgaged our future for his selfish interest that suggest that there is no Idoma nation without him or his children.”
