Commandant General of Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, Alhaji Usman
Mohammed Jahun, yesterday said that men of the group were responsible
for the rescue of one of the kidnapped Chibok girls, and wondered why
the military are taking all the credit without making reference to
VGN.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, Alhaji Jahun recalled that four of his
men who were on patrol in Bale village in Born State, rescued the said
girl with her baby.

He therefore stressed the need for the military to accord the VGN the
necessary recognition on the issue, assuring that the group is ever
ready to support security agencies in the discharge of their duties.

Also, the Commandant reiterated support of VGN to support President
Muhammadu Buhari’s administration with a view to achieving his
objectives in the area of security.

He therefore solicited the support of the FG and the National Assembly
through appropriate legislation, financial and logistics that would
further enhance the performance of vigilante across the country.
