Wonders, they say never ends. This is perhaps the scenario currently at Aseda’s Compound of Isedo Street, Ila-Orangun in Osun State, which suddenly has turned to a tourist centre of sort, as a middle-aged woman recently gave birth to a baby girl wrapped with a cloth containing Holy Bible.
On the very day, the woman put to bed, people from far and near of the ancient Ila community trooped in large numbers to confirm the miracle baby.
According to a reliable source that spoke to the Nigerian Pilot Sunday, the name of the mother of the baby is Adijat Anike Babalola, who is a housewife.
This paper also gathered that one Oladiran from Otun-Ekiti in Ekiti State impregnated the woman, but according to the mother of the miracle baby, they lost contact after some months.
According to Adijat, she was unable to locate her husband, Oladiran, as she had tried to locate him, which yielded no result till she gave birth to the miracle baby last month, October.
But when Nigerian Pilot Sunday visited the woman at her residence in Ila, she said, she was confused when she gave birth to her baby with a wrapper around her body.
“The baby was born with a wrapper and by the time the medical personnel at the labour room unwrapped it, a Holy Bible was found in it.
Continuing she said, “I was hale and healthy during the delivery process till the end,” the woman retorted.
When asked how she felt with the development, she said, “I was highly elated about the incidence and I give thanks to the Almighty in the heaven for making me happy and for a successful delivery.
According to her, the problem she is facing now is how to seek for help from the government, individuals, philanthropist and people of God. “I am jobless and the baby’s father has abandoned me,” she said, adding, “I only have my mother with me who is assisting in nursing the baby.”
“I think by now, I have learnt a lesson, which means, one must be vigilant before leaping and I want to advice the young generation not to rush into marriage. They should first struggle to earn a living that is having job that will sustain them without relying on any man.”
Adijat further pleaded with government to create job opportunities for the youths of the country.
Efforts by this paper to speak with both the executive secretary, Ila Local Government Area of the state and Orangun of Ila, proved abortive, as they were not around during the visit.
As at the time of filling this report, people continued to troop to have a glance at the miracle baby born with a Holy Bible.
