A traditional ruler in Boluwaduro Local Government Area of Osun State, the Onirun of Oke-Irun, Oba Isaac Adetunlurese Olokose II, has admonished President Muhammad Buhari not to rush in appointing ministers for his administration.
The Onirun, who gave this advice during the celebration of this year “Ore Festival” of the ancient town, said the President should exercise caution in selecting his ministers in order to choose persons of integrity, good character and commitment to serve and deliver dividends of democracy for the people.
He cited the worthy example of the Vice President, Professor ‘Yemi Osibajo, and former INEC boss, Professor Attahiru Jega among others, who rendered selfless service to the country.
The traditional ruler, who described President Buhari as the best leader among the past leaders in the country and noted that his past records spoke volume for him, appealed to Nigerians to rally round the President’s transitional programme instead of criticising him.
Oba Adetunlurese who has just concluded forty three (43) days without eating meat to demonstrate his love for the President and pray for the success of his government condemned some people calling Mr President a slow President, reminding them that, “Slow and Steady Win The Race”.
The Onirun, who also commended former President Olusegun Obasanjo for running a transparence administration while leading the country as a Military and Civilian emphasised that, “ OBJ promised to handed over government to a civilian administration and he did so without any rancour.
He also worked towards cancellation of IMF loan when he was also a Civilian President, So, we need this type of dedicated and committed leaders and that’s why God has brought President Buhari to liberate the country.”
The Monarch pleaded with the 3-tier of government to sponsor the festival, which is an annual event that ushers in the new yam into the new year before it gets to the market.
