Members donate blood

CHURCH OF Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, popularly known as Church of Mormon or Mormon Church Nigeria, Enugu State, at the weekend, embarked on their yearly community service to the city and nation. The church has carried out lots of community service in partnership with some government agencies in the state to create effectiveness of the service. According to the president of the church in Enugu, Chimaroke Udechi, “We partnered with ESWAMA last year to clean
Agbani enviromment axis, filled pot holes with latrite and sand beside the Neuropsychiatric Hospital Enugu, cleaned some drainages, and we also partner with police and road safety to control traffic in the state. “The Church of Christ was named after Christ and we believe in the charity work that Christ did.” He disclosed that their services to the society this year would be on hospitals. “Blood donation started yesterday 13th and will last till 19th of August at Trans Ekulu ward meeting house and Uwani church meeting house. The free blood donation starts by 9:00 am and ends 6:00 pm daily,” Udechi disclosed. He also disclosed that other community services that will take place August 20 include, cleaning of surroundings and interior Abakpa Nike Health Centre, New Haven Health Centre, Uwani Cottage Hospital, painting/ beautification of the High Court in Agbani and many other services. The church, apart from the charity work, also distributed the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ to people that care and urged them to read it. “We believe that people can draw near to God by reading the Book of Mormon,” Udechi declared.
