Chairman, People Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State, Engr.
Clement Faboyede, has reacted to the resignation of Alhaji Adamu Muazu as the National Chairman of the party, saying it will give room for the re-organisation of the party to return to its pride of place in the political space of the country.
Speaking with Nigerian Pilot on Wednesday, he said that Muazu’s resignation is long expected since many have lost confidence in his leadership.
He said: “I have to appreciate him for resigning. I believe that the former Deputy Chairman, who is now the Acting Chairman, will be able to steer the affairs of the party well and put PDP back to the right track for us to revamp the party. That is my belief.
“I hope that the coming together of the governors at the PDP level and our elders’ caucus will put things aright so that PDP will start repositioning for future activities.
In his message to the members of the PDP in Ondo State, he said: “We want to appeal to our people, to maintain their peace as the National Chairman has resigned. They should hope for a better future for PDP.
We will start to reorganise PDP; they should be confident and hope that the PDP in the nearest future will come back to its great position. And the dividends of democracy as contained in the manifesto of the PDP will be actualised. They should hope for the best.”
