Bauchi State governor, Isa Yuguda who lost the Bauchi South senatorial seat at last week’s election has described his loss as a blessing to him, saying it was from God Almighty who does not make mistake.
Governor Yuguda made the remark yesterday while speaking to newsmen at the Government House, Bauchi, where he said he had taken the decision of the Bauchi electorate in good faith and advised all PDP candidates in the state never to contest the decision in court.
“Losing to my younger brother, Ali Wakili, is a blessing to me as the people of the state gave me mandate for eight good years to serve them as a governor and now I lost the senatorial seat. I thank Almighty Allah as he never makes a mistake. We should submit to the will of Allah but urge him to pursue peace and unity of Bauchi south people as representative of his constituency,” he said.
Yuguda also congratulated president-elect, General Muhammad Buhari (rtd) and all other APC candidates in the state, urging politicians to emulate the former military leader who never in his contest abused any one, saying there was no bitterness in politics but brotherliness.
“Politicians should emulate General Buhari; as he started this contest in 2003 he never insulted anybody; instead he continued with the struggle until this year God has decided to give him the mandate to be our president. I must commend the people of the state for giving me the mandate from 2007 to 2011 to serve them; and there was never a time when people of the state supported any candidate like they have done to me, which I remain grateful,” he added.
The governor reiterated his readiness to support the governor that would be elected in next week’s election, irrespective of the party he belongs.
