Nigeria’s President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari has said that, tackling youth unemployment remains an issue his government will accord top priority when sworn-into office.
He stated this in Kaduna at the weekend while playing host to natives of Niger state who paid him a congratulatory visit at his Kaduna office.
General Buhari said, unemployment among youth is a serious matter of concern, as it is the major cause of youth restiveness.
He therefore promised that, taking youth off the streets and having them gainfully employed will be at the front burner of his administration.
He expressed appreciation to the group led by the outgoing Deputy Governor of Niger State, Sani Ibeto.
The group however prayed for the President-elect, and wished him a fulfilling tenure.
Also present at the meeting was the Kaduna State Governor-elect, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai among other close allies of the President elect.
