Former Senior Special Assistant to the President on Millennium Development Goals, MDGs, Dr. Precious Gbeneol, has threatened to sue a solar company, Zimmerman Brothers Limited and the publishers of ThisDay newspapers, over a N58 million debts allegedly owed the company.
In a statement, yesterday, in Abuja, Gbeneol also clarified that she neither knew Zimmerman throughout her tenure in the MDGs office nor anybody connected with the solar company nor did the office of the SSA on MDG award contract to it.
The former Presidential aide who wondered why she was being mentioned in connection with a matter she know nothing about nor had contractual agreement with neither Zimmerman nor D’Jes Enterprises Limited adding that she was only dragged into the matter for sensational reasons.
She stated that payment and violation of agreement between two people who consented to do business should be a civil matter only settled in the court of law. Gbeneol warned that she would proceed to court to defend and establish her innocence if the publication is not retracted in five days.
The former Presidential aide said at no time did the petition pending at the EFCC mention her as party in the matter between one Tamuno Jamugbo and Zimmerman brothers limited, wondering why she was now being mentioned in a matter.
She noted that any genuine debt owed by the office of SSA to the President on MDGs would be settled as the office is still in place while her tenure only expired.
According to findings, the matter pending at the EFCC was due to a petition filed against D’Jes Enterprises Limited owned by one Mrs Tamuno Jamugbo and Zimmerman’s Chief Executive Officer, David Umezurik
