National Association of State Assembly Legislators, NASAL, has lauded the outgoing Chinese envoy, The Deputy Ambassador People’s Republic Of China to Nigeria, Zhang Bin, for his professionalism in the discharge of his duties which has helped improve Nigeria’s diplomatic and bilateral relations with Nigeria.
This commendation was made by the Director General, NASAL, Hon. Uchechukwu Chukwuma, yesterday while appraising the diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria.
Chukwuma said the outgoing Chinese diplomat deserves commendation for his love for Nigeria and Nigerians.
“He showed esteemed regard for Nigerian affairs and economic growth.
And we at NASAL have worked closely as partners with the Chinese Embassy and positive results have been achieved politically and bilaterally.
“China is now a global power in the international community because of the dogged and serious minded political leaders that have been at the helm of affairs.
“The Chinese people themselves have seen and acted collectively to make sure their country is placed on an enviable height that reputable nations recognise as a major force to reckon with.
“The impact made in the bilateral relationship by the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria has been tremendous, and today, we can see the growth and development of Nigeria’s economy. Nigeria’s position as a number one economy in Africa was largely made possible by the high volume of trade Nigeria has with China.
“The outgoing Chinese deputy ambassador, Zhang Bin, should be commended for facilitating trade relations between China and Nigeria, and as a result many Chinese businessmen and investors have massively invested in the Nigerian economy.
“We can see increased educational pursuit in China by Nigerians, and speedy approval and granting of visas to Nigerians going for business trips and tourism, and also development partnerships with the Nigerian government.
THE NASAL boss said Mr. Zhang had already discussed ways to build capacity of Nigerian state legislators, and how they can be made more professionals for the position they have been elected for by their people.
He also wished the Chinese envoy well in his diplomatic assignment in Finland, and urged him to maintain the cordial relationship he had with NASAL and Nigeria.
