Nasarawa Assembly passes investment, devt agency bill into law

NASARAWA State House of Assembly yesterday passed into law, a bill for a law to establish the Nasarawa State Investment and Development Agency.
The agency is expected to, among other things, promote, facilitate and coordinate investments in the state.
Speaker Ibrahim BalarabeAbdullahi announced the passage of the bill into law after the Majority Leader, TankoTunga, moved a motion for its third reading and was seconded by the Minority Leader, DanladiJatau.
The speaker maintained that the bill, when finally assented to, would go a long way in promoting and coordinating investments in the state.
“This bill, if finally signed into law, would also boost the state’s socio-economic activities, improve internally generated revenue and the standard of living of the people.”
Balarabe, who directed the clerk to produce a clean copy of the bill for the governor’s assent, assured the state government of the House’s readiness to continue to support its economic and investment policies for the overall development of the state.
