NASARAWA State House of Assembly yesterday reconstituted its standing committees with a call on the members to ensure effective monitoring and implementation of the 2016 budget for the overall development of the state.
Speaker of the House, Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi gave the charged while announcing the house reconstituted standing committee chairmen and their members in Lafia.
He said that effective monitoring of the budget would not only to ensure its full implementation by ministries/MDAs but also to bring the much dividend of democracy to the citizens of the state.
“If you recall about a month ago, this House dissolved its standing committee chairmen and their members and today we are reconstituting the house standing committee chairmen with their members.
“The essence of the monitoring is to make sure that the 2016 budget is implemented according to the house approval of the state’s ministries, agencies, parastatal, boards among others provisions in the budget.
“You are also to ensure that fund allocated to state’s ministries, agencies, parastatal, boards are properly utilized for the development of the state and the country at large,” he said
The speaker assured the executive arm of government of the assembly readiness to continue to synergize with them through making good laws that have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state.
He urged the people of the state and Nigerians to live in peace and tolerate one another, irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliations.
Nigerian Pilot reports that Mr. Daniel Ogazi,Sani Isah,Mohammed Okpede,Abubakar Imam, Mohammed Muluku are house committee chairmen on Education, Public Account, Health, Judiciary, planning and Budget.
Others are Ibrahim Bala, Mohammed Okpoku,Hashimu Jibrin, Peter Mbucho, Abubakar Kana, Malla Makpa, Ibrahim Alkali as chairmen of Capital market, Works,Land, Rules and Business, Agriculture, Water Resources, public complaint among others.
