Nasarawa donates 44 trucks of food items to flood victims

NASARAWA State government has donated about 44 trucks of assorted food items to victims of the recent flood disaster in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.

 

Executive Secretary of Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency, NASEMA, Barr. Zamani Alumaga, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Lafia on Tuesday, said Governor Abdullahi Sule, had directed immediate delivery of the food items to the beneficiaries to cushion the effect of the unfortunate incident.

 

He revealed that the items donated were bags of maize, guinea corn, rice,  grand nut oil and millet.

 

Other items according to him include; mattresses/mats, wrappers, magi cube, blanket/ towels and buckets.

 

Giving names of the affected communities, the NASEMA boss said Arah community had 200 houses submerged by the flood, Rebi; 57 houses, Gidan Soja/Gudi 11 houses all in Nasarawa Local Government.

 

Alumaga, who warned diversion of materials, said all stakeholders of the affected communities would be involved in the distribution of the items, pointing out, however that no causality was recorded.
