NASARAWA State government says it will provide land for the federal government’s mass housing estate to be constructed in the state.
Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura disclosed this in a statement signed by his special assistant on Media and Publicity, Ahmed Tukur, and made available to journalists in Lafia yesterday.
According to the statement, the governor gave the indication during a meeting with the management of the state Geographical Information Service, NAGIS, in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area of the state.
The governor pointed out that the state government would collaborate with the federal government to identify lands suitable for the project and contact the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing for necessary guidance.
He said NAGIS would be engaged to work out the master plan for the land, after the aerial survey of the proposed area to make it easy for the federal government to commence work immediately.
Al-Makura, who later took an aerial survey of the proposed lands around Mararaba, promised that the state government would give federal government all the necessary support and assistance to ensure the success of the project.
