National Assembly Legislative Aides Forum, NAASLAF, has called on the management of the National Assembly to stop the illegal deduction of all union dues from their salaries.
This is contained in a press statement by the association’s care taker committee chairman, Comrade Samuel Melaye, in Abuja yesterday and made available to Nigerian Pilot.
According to the chairman, the resolve is to checkmate abuses in the system.
The group also tasked the management on prompt payment of their salaries as well as other outstanding allowances accruing to its members.
It alleged that the untimely payment of salaries had plunged its members into hardship.
The statement read in parts: “We have also formally written to the management to stop every form of deduction in the salaries and allowances of all legislative aides.
“The CTC under the leadership of Mr Sam Melaye has also held several meetings with the management of the National Assembly over the timely payment of salaries and other outstanding allowances to the legislative aides and was assured that something is being done in that regard.”
