ARRANGEMENT has been concluded by Osun State to participate in about
seventeen (17) games during this year’s National Youth Games holding in Ilorin
Kwara State.
Speaking yesterday at the Press Conference organized by the State Ministry of
Social Protection, Sports and Special Needs, the Commissioner in charge, Com. Biyi
Odunlade explained that, the state shall present sixty eight (68) athletes to participate
in seventeen (17) games.
According to Odunlade, Osun State is taking part in, Judo, Swimming, Karate,
Takwondo, Table Tennis, Volley Ball, Ayo, Weight lifting, Squash, Cycling, Scrabble,
Boxing, Table Tennis, Athletics and Badminton.
While giving kudos to the state Government for supporting the contingents from
the state, Odunlade, informed that N18 million has been
approved to take care of preparation, logistic, camping, and hazards.
Meanwhile, the state contingents are expected to depart Osogbo on Thursday, 7th
September ahead of the tournament which is expected to take off from Friday, 8th
September and last till 17th of September respectively
