Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, Chapter has pleaded to partner with the FCT Police Command in the area of community security through its program tagged ‘’Know- your – Neighbour.’’
The chairperson of the Association, Comrade Felicia Chukwurah made this known yesterday in Abuja during a courtesy call to the Commissioner of Police, CP Wilson Inalegwu in his office.
Chukwurah, who lead a team of Ex-co Members of the association, said that the focal point of the campaign was about taking security consciousness to the doorsteps of the people, make the place safe and invariably to attract investors to the FCT.
She said, ‘’ we want to partner with your command through our program called Know- your- neighbor campaign. This is to make the people know that security is very important, not just by the police but for everybody. It is about security of lives and property, attracting investors into Nigeria, setting up a political, social and economic climate in Nigeria.’’
The Commissioner of Police FCT Command, Wilson Inalegwa while receiving the team commended NAWOJ passion and proactive gesture towards security consciousness in the country.
Inalegwu who promised to partner with NAWOJ said, ‘’the visit is timely because the National Security Summit coming up next week is about knowing your neighbor. It is engaging the public to discuss the issues of security.’’
