Pursuance to the realisation of its corporate social responsibility to northern Nigeria, Maltina, a subsidiary of Nigerian Brewery, NB, weekend commissioned six new block of 6 classrooms, library, toilets and a borehole it constructed to serves both GSS Badawa and its immediate surroundings in Kano State.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Managing Director Maltina, NB Plc, Mr. Nicolaas Vervede, who was represented by Kaduna Brewery Manager, Mr. Bolu Obawole, stated that the classrooms and library are furnished with students’ desks, chairs and tables for teachers.
‘’We believe these infrastructures will improve the standard of education in this school and compliment government’s efforts in the provision of basic, qualitative and affordable education in a conducive learning and teaching environment for students and teachers in other to build our future leaders. It is my belief that the School authority will sustain and manage these facilities judiciously in the years ahead’’ he added.
He also added that their commitment to the overall wellbeing of their partner community is an enduring testimony in all their locations nationwide, as they would continue to sustain and improve on their corporate social responsibilities as long as they are guaranteed the enabling environment to operate.
Obawole also seek the State Governor’s continuous support towards protecting businesses in the State and beyond, for them and their partners.
Earlier, the guest speaker, Ahmad Muhammed Tsauni of Department of Economics Bayero University Kano called on Business communities to emulate Maltina Company to contribute through their corporate social responsibility funds in the provision of physical and non-physical infrastructures.
