National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has registered about 5000 orphans of Boko Haram victims in North-East Nigeria, Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Mohammed Kanar disclosed to newsmen in Maiduguri.
He said the children from Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states either lost their fathers or mothers or both, while in some cases, they do not know the whereabouts of their parents and guardians.
Kanar further explained that, so far, the children are being catered for adequately and properly by the respective state governments as each of the three state governments provide
foodstuff and other relief materials for the children along with other IDPs.
He added that the security agencies have also been providing the children and IDPs camps with security adequately.
