Nigeria Film Corporation, NFC, yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding, MOU, with the Jos Business School to organise this year’s international film festival scheduled to take place in Jos, Plateau State.
Our correspondent reports that since the commencement of the annual film festival in 2006, this is the first time the festivals will take place in another city other than Lagos and Abuja.
Managing Director of Nigeria Film Corporation, Dr. Danjuma Dadu who signed the MoU with former Secretary to the Plateau State government and Executive Director of the Jos Business School, Ezekiel Gomos said new components have been added to the October scheduled event to include the use of film for economic development as well as peace and security.
Dadu said former MD of the NFC Afolabi Adesanya and Professor Danladi Atu will work together with the team from Jos business school as advisers adding that “if you look at film festivals all over the world, you will notice that it takes place where film activities remain the core and for us in Nigeria, that place in here in Jos.”
Former Secretary to the Plateau State government and Executive Director of the Jos Business school, Ezekiel Gomos described Jos as the cradle of film making in Nigeria and stressed that his team will put together the best brains and ideas to make this year’s festival a success.
