Niger State House of Assembly yesterday passed a resolution calling on Governor Abubakar Bello to remove his Chief Press Secretary over unguarded utterances on legislative functions of the House.
Some media outlets had on Monday attributed a story to Dooba in which he was alleged that the Governor had submitted 15 commissioner nominees to the House of Assembly for confirmation.
The House made the resolution following a motion moved under matter of urgent public importance by Honourable Abdulmalik Kabir (Paikoro, APC) and seconded by Hon. Muhammed Lokogoma (Wushishi, APC).
Some newspapers on October 26, 2015 reported that His Excellency Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has submitted 15 commissioner nominees to the Niger State House of Assembly for confirmation.
The CPS went further to tell the journalists that the names had been sent to the Niger State House of Assembly and the Leadership of the House would unveil it on Tuesday during its plenary session;
“Uptil this moment, the Niger State House of Assembly‎ is yet to receive the list of commissioner nominees from the Governor.
“It is disappointing that a person of the standing of the CPS of the executive Governor could be unprofessional in the execution of his duties and assume a role that is not his,” Kabir added.
Another member, Hon. Muhammed Nurudeen (Kontagora 1, APC) noted that Assembly and the state as a whole had had enough of Dooba’s excesses, hence the need to replace him with a more competent hand.
“The other time, he went on air to tell the world that the Governor had removed caretaker chairmen, which was not so.
“We cannot fold our arms and allow him to ridicule the House and the government of APC, as such, we must prevail on the Governor to replace him with someone more competent,’ he said.
Other members spoke in the same vein and the Deputy‎ Speaker, Hon. Hussein Ibrahim (Agaie, APC), who presided over plenary, directed the clerk to forward the resolution of the House to the Governor.
