A POLITICAL pressure group, Niger-Delta Youth Vanguard for All Progressives Congress, NDYV-APC, has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari over his consistent fight against corruption. The group also commended President Buhari on the appointment of a Deltan, Dr. Kachikwu Obi as the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, and the appointment of a Niger Deltan as head of Amnesty Programme.
In a statement by its President, Com. Fredrick Ujobolo, Secretary, Comrade Gordons Oweiware and the Publicity Secretary, Comrade Bounty Omokoro, said only upright people like Buhari can restore sanity to the Nigeria nation full of corrupt leaders.
The statement which called on Buhari to be careful and mindful of those he will bring into his government, pointed out that politicians with unacceptable characters, whether members of APC or PDP should be avoided now that the country is undergoing serious reforms.
The group said, “We have seen that Buhari’s appointment so far has been on merit whether from the south, west, east or north. The idea of ‘this is my brother’ or ‘this is my sister’ is what has destroyed the Nigerian nation and l urge Buhari to discourage it.
“Let those who had worked for the party be given preference -party members who had worked, instead of recognizing defectors from opposition parties that fought the party to standstill and only to cross-carpet when the party has won.”
