Niger State governor-elect, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has assured to run all inclusive government and would adequately inform the people on the extent of asset and liability Governor Aliyu’s government bequeathed to his administration when fully verified.
Bello made this known at the secretariat of his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC,in Minna yesterday in his acceptance speech, saying that the era of relying solely on allocation from the federation account was gone, even as he promised to pursue a deliberate strategic direction aimed at harnessing its human and natural resources for economic independence.
He commended the efforts of INEC in conducting a transparent, free, fair, credible and acceptable election in the country, even as he applauded all the stakeholders who participated in the conduct of the elections in Nigeria.
The governor-elect explained that his strength was his political party, the APC, that nominated him to be its flag bearer and its leaders, and members who together willingly and effectively traversed every nook and cranny of the state canvassing for support.
He noted that all acrimony and heated arguments generated during the electioneering must be put behind so as to forge ahead as a family.
“You are all my people and I shall treat every one of you as my own. I shall work for those who voted for me as well as those who voted against me, and even for those who did not vote at all.”
He therefore commended the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko for being a worthy adversary as he paid respect to the outgoing governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, who had the opportunity to pilot the state for eight years, hoping his team to meet with Aliyu soonest to fine tune in order to have an efficient transition in the state.
