Two fresh cases of Wild Polio Virus, WPV, have hit Nigeria after two years of break in polio transmission in the country.
This is coming after the country marked two years of free polio transmission and awaiting official World Health Organisation, WHO, free polio certification by 2017.
Nigerian Pilot gathered that the two new polio cases were found yesterday in Gwazo and Jere Local Government Areas of Borno State.
However, there are still no reactions yet by the health ministry as at the time of going to the press.
Recall that Nigeria on July 24 celebrated two years without any new case of polio and if this is confirmed, all hopes of certifying the country polio free may be dashed.
