The 10th Nigeria International Trade Fair/Expo which was scheduled to hold on the 10th-12th November this year at International Conference Centre, ICC, Abuja, has been rescheduled to be held on 1 to 3 June, 2021 at the same venue.

The change of date was announced in a press statement signed by the organisers of the event, Amb. Israel Chukwuma Edward and Engr Innocent Ogu and made available to journalists.

“Nigeria International Trade Fair/Expo is a yearly event designed to promote, strengthen and widen businesses, trade, tourism and investment opportunities in Nigeria

“The event is also a place where people come to exchange ideas, as it creates neutral environment for both the big and small business organisations” the state explained.

According to the organizers of the expo, the theme of this year’s edition is: “Non-Oil Products, as a panacea to Economic and Industrial Development” will no doubt woo investors to invest in non-oil products for the purpose of diversifying the nation’s economy.

The organisers noted that the decision to postpone the event became necessary considering the daily cases of Corona Virus recorded around the world.

They asserted that since the Trade Fair/Expo involves physical gatherings of people, going on with the event may not be too good health wise, especially now that nations across the globe are working tirelessly to curb the effects and spread of the deadly virus.

“We are in conformity with relevant authorities and stakeholders in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic. The safety of the participants should first be considered before any other thing follows.

“Even though the Presidency and other relevant authority and agencies had approved the event considering its importance and benefits that are attached to it, safety of the participants should also be looked into at this trying period” the statement explained.

The organisers also called on those preparing to participate in the Trade Fair/Expo not to be discouraged because of the postponement, adding that the new date will be favourable to everyone.”We urged business owners, chief executives and captains of industry across the country to prepare their minds towards participating and showcasing their goods in the forthcoming Expo at International Conference Centre, Abuja” the statement said.
