Members of the Nigeria Investment Council, USA is partnering with the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, NIPC to attract investment into the country following recent visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the United States of America, USA.
Consequently, the Council has already discussed with major investors in Agriculture, Mining, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Energy Sectors.
Executive Secretary of the NIPC, Mrs. Uju Aisha Hassan Baba, who received members of the Nigeria Investment Council, USA in her office yesterday stated that the Commission will ensure that investors who have shown interest to invest in Nigeria are provided with adequate information and given hand-holding support to actualize their investment in the country.
She commended the delegation for their efforts in promoting the abundant investment opportunities to the United States Investors, stressing that the main focus of the Commission now is to identify and meet targeted investors who are committed and desirous to invest in the country as well as promoting priority sectors, especially the non-oil sectors.
NIPC Chief Executive noted that the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the USA has opened window of opportunities to potential and prospective investors’ to ensure that their presence is felt in the country, adding that the country is now on the right tract to economic recovery and advancement.
Earlier the leader of delegation, Dr. Chris Nwanoro stated the Council has been engaging top American companies and Chief Executives, especially those seeking expansion of their businesses to Africa to consider Nigeria as the most preferred investment destination, adding that “We have identified some investors who have now indicated interest to invest in Nigeria.
He expressed their organization readiness to partner with the Commission to ensure that massive investments are attracted from the United States to Nigeria, maintaining that President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the US has opened such opportunities.
