Spate of crime in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has become alarming, as a production staff of Nigerian Pilot Newspaper, Mr. Wilfred Francis, was on Monday, October 9, attacked at about 10.00pm while on his way home.
The incident occurred at Wuse Market Bridge, after Febson Mall Plaza. He boarded a taxi from the office premises along the Sultan Abubakar Way at Wuse Zone 3 enroute Berger Junction, on reaching the said bridge, a supposed passenger who later turned out to be the leader of a gang of five criminals flagged down the taxi. He attacked the passengers, but was over powered and fled under the bridge.
Unknown to Mr. Francis that the attacker had gone to re-enforce, he (Mr. Francis) came down from the car to pick up some of the items that fell on the road, but the hoodlum came back with members of his criminal gang and unleashed their venom on him, carting away his mobile phones, money and other items.
The taxi that he boarded on sighting the criminals attacking Mr. Francis zoomed off with his bag containing a HP Core i3, 1 TB 8GB laptop, Nigerian Pilot identity card, a 500GB hard drive among other items.
Mr. Francis is making a passionate appeal to the taxi driver to use his ID card to locate him and return the bag containing the above mentioned items or contact the Wuse Zone 3 police station and radio stations in the FCT.
