The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted moderate dust haze weather conditions over the central states of the country on Wednesday.

The prediction is contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) in Abuja on Tuesday.

It added that visibility values of 24 kilometres would prevail over Abuja, Zaria, Bida, Yola and Lafia with night time temperatures of between 10 to 19 degrees Celsius.

NiMet also predicted that the coastal cities of Lagos, Uyo, Port Harcourt and Calabar would be misty in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon.

It also predicted that hazy conditions would prevail over the inland areas of Akure, Ibadan, Enugu, Asaba and Owerri in the afternoon with night time temperatures range of 12 to 26 degrees Celsius.

NiMet predicted that Northern states of Kano, Katsina, Sokoto and Maiduguri would experience thick dust haze during the forecast period.

It added that poorer visibility values of less than 1000m might occur in areas like Kano, Yelwa and Maiduguri, with night time temperatures of between 11 to 15 degrees Celsius.

According to the prediction, there are fresh dust particles coming into the country from Niger and Chad.
