Enyimba goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai has assured there will not be any slip in the oriental derby against FC IfeanyiUbah.
The Nigerian champions will host neighbours, FC IfeanyiUbah in today’s Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL match day 17 clash at temporal ground, Umuahia Township Stadium.
Afelokhai said history has always favoured him in the colours of former side, Kano Pillars and will be same in the People’s Elephant against the Nnewi outfit.
“There will not be any mistake not only on my own part but the entire team against oriental neighbours, FC IfeanyiUbah.
“I had 100 per cent edge over the side while at Kano Pillars I see same scenario repeating itself at Enyimba.
“I’m not the character that fears opponents’ attackers so it will not change now we are confronting FC IfeanyiUbah.
“The oriental clash is important to us as we need a positive result in the encounter to further shore up our position on the league table.
“We are the reigning champions and should not be occupying the position we are right now even though we have three make-up matches to play.
“We are supposed to lead the pack at all time to prove our pedigree and stuff as Nigerian champions.
“The encounter is not going to be an easy one given the familiarity between both sides but we will get the job well done.
“We are not keen on the goal margin but the whole three points at stake in the encounter,” said the former Kano Pillars shot stopper to supersport.com.
The two-time African champions are 12th on the 20-team top flight on 21 points with three matches to spare against Warri Wolves, Wikki Tourists and sister side, Abia Warriors.
