Following killings in Plateau State, the State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Bulus Dabit, has cautioned communities in the state against harbouring miscreants that may hurt them in future.
He said, “Over time we (Plateau people) have been very warm and accommodating and this has often turned out to be our undoing,’’ Dabit told newsmen.
He described as “very unfortunate’’, a situation where people still keep unknown persons in their communities despite constant attacks visited on them by unknown persons.
Dabit advised the people to be very vigilant, and be quick to report any suspicious person to the security agencies.
The NOA chief advised the people of Kadunung community in Mangu Local Govermment Area, who were recently attacked, against taking the laws in their hands.
“Doing that will only escalate the situation and worsen an already bad situation,’’ he said.
It could be recalled that the community of 6,000 persons was attacked recently by unknown gunmen that left many dead, while many houses were destroyed.‬
