National Orientation Agency, NOA, yesterday launched its its periodical magazine, National Mobiliser, aimed at sensitising the general public on the policies, programmes and activities of the federal government.
Director General, NOA, Mr. Mike Omeri in an address, said one of the mandates of the agency is to communicate effectively to all Nigerians the policies, programmes and activities of the federal government, adding that National Mobilizer is one of its many platforms to carry out that mandate.
Omeri explained that Nigerians need to be educated and well informed of all government activities, explaining that, with its offices spread in all the 36 states of the federation and their local governments, it would achieve the goal, adding that the magazine will subsequently be produced in local languages to pass the message effectively to the grassroots.
He noted that this edition heralded the coming of the new government, and its policies and programmes in the different sectors of the country and called on all government agencies to make use of the opportunity by the NOA, to get Nigerians informed about its activities and the roles they can play to help them perform better.
Giving her remark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, Mrs. NkechI Ejele, while commending the activities of NOA, noted that while most government agencies produced magazines for internal consumption of their staff, NOA produces its own for citizens to get educated on the policies and activities of the federal government.
He explained that the ministry of culture, tourism and national orientation will use the platform to advertise tourist sites in all the states and local government to attract investors to the country, appreciating the work NOA has done, especially the initiative of giving the magazine free to members of the public.
