An all-inclusive summit on the position of the Northern Nigerians on the lingering multiple salient national issues confronting the Nigeria has been scheduled for October Monday and Tuesday, in kaduna.
Titled. “A Pan-Northern Groups’ Summit in Kaduna”, summit, convening by the almighty Northern Elders Forum, NEF, will address many other challenges threatening country’s unity, under the current government, holding at Arewa House, kaduna.
It also expected to bring other contending topical issues to the fore, with a view to discuss, address and find lasting solutions to them.
A mini sovereign conference of sort, some specific issues billed for discussion include political crises, instabilities exhibited in two major political parties and its consequences; corruption created and promoted by the existing political parties system, and calls for restructuring of the country, cessation of some parts, unhealthy relationships between 3 arms of government and 1999 constitution among them. .
Troubled national issues for discussion during the summit organised by fearless Ango Abdullahi led forum include Boko Haram insurgency, Niger Delta, South East Militancy, Banditry, robbery and kidnappings respectively.
Others include pervasive poverty, economic hardship, policies and strategies religious, other forms of inter-communal relations like herdsmen/farmers subject.
In the letters of invitation to various of heads of media organisations and signed by chairman organising committee Prof. Ango Abdllahi, stated that it has become imperative for Northerners from a cross the board, to come together to examine the situation and released the position, and chart a framework for action for key reference point in future national discourse. It added that “The summit shall aim at becoming instrumental in mobilising governments, stakeholders, and indeed, sensitising the Nigerian citizenry on the states of the nation. The outcome of the summit shall also provide a viable constructive platform at presenting a common and unified position of the North in any national dialogue”, he said.
