Dr DanAzumi Ibrahim has been appointed Director-General for the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP).
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Solomon Nshem, the Head Media of NOTAP, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday.
According to the statement, the appointment is contained in an official correspondence from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal.
“Ibrahim, a graduate of Agriculture from the University of Maiduguri, also holds a Master of Science Degree in Soil Microbiology, University of Newcastle, Upontyne, United Kingdom, in 1987.
“He also holds a doctorate degree in Soil Fertility from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, 2004.’’
Before his appointment, Ibrahim was a Lecturer at the University of Maiduguri with many scientific publications to his credit.
He also served in various capacities at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council before his transfer to NOTAP in 2010.
NAN recalls that Ibrahim took over from Prof. Umar Bindir, now Secretary to the Government of Adamawa State.
NAN also reports that Ibrahim was appointed to serve as NOTAP’s DG, in acting capacity, on July 1, 2015.
