An official of the Uyo-based side, Uwem Ekoh said the former Enyimba coach is expected to endorse his contract papers in the next few days.
“The truth right now is that coach Abdul Maikaba has accepted to join us but he is yet to formally sign the contract documents.
“That is expected to be done in the coming days once he is satisfied with the terms contained in the contract papers.
“Maikaba met with the chairman as well as the management where personal terms were agreed and he was formally handed the contract papers for him to study and revert to the chairman.
“We hope he will turn in the papers latest on Friday so that he can sign almost immediately as well as unveiling.
“Maikaba is expected to resume training with the players on Monday to start preparation for the upcoming season.
“I do not know whether the proposed contract is for a year or two but that’s not an issue to the parties.
“We can say confidently and comfortably that Maikaba is our coach right now,” said Ekoh to supersport.com.
