Moses Ebiye has admitted he was relieved at his side’s 3-1 victory over Heartland FC at the Agege Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Oga Boys earned their first win in the last twelve matches and it was a result that they deserved.
Anthony Oussou put the away side in front after ten minutes. He benefitted from Emeka Atuloma’s assist to score with his head.
Two minutes before halftime, Moses Ebiye found Merenini Junior, who curled the ball into the corner from the edge of the box, before Ebiye tapped in after the hour to put the hosts ahead for the first time in the game.
Ifegwu Ojukwu got himself on the score sheet from the penalty spot, after a foul by Zuomana Doumbia on Ebiye. The decision also meant that the Heartland defender was dismissed.
“We were solid and did not leave any gaps between defence and attack, so that benefited us,” Ebiye told Goal.
“We started a little nervously but the equaliser settled us and I thought we had a brilliant game.
