Enyimba moved a step closer to winning a seventh Nigeria league title after they extend their lead on top of the table following a goalless draw at Nasarawa United yesterday.
Enyimba thus remained top with 62 points from 34 games, six points clear of second-placed Warri Wolves, whose home game against Akwa United was rained off and will be this morning at the same venue.
Hosts Nasarawa United started Wednesday’s clash against Enyimba on a high tempo trying to get the goals to unsettle the visitors, who did well to stand resolute in defence.
The best chance of the game fell to Enyimba midfielder Kingsley Sokari, who missed a sitter in the 42nd minute.
Elsewhere, Ghanaian striker Godbless Asamoah was Dolphins hero after they came from behind to beat champions Kano Pillars 2-1 in a Week 34 game of the Nigeria league in Port Harcourt.
Dolphins battling for survival in the top flight now have 38 points from 34 games but remain in the drop zone, while Pillars have 49 points from same number of games.
