New entrants into the Nigeria Professional Football League, Mountain of Fire and Miracle, MFM FC continued their impressive start to the new season as they recorded their second win after beating visiting Rivers United FC formerly known as Dolphins 2-0 at the Agege Stadium yesterday.
The Olukoya Boys as the MFM FC are fondly known were on in cruise control with two goals in the first half before the visitors pulled one back in the second half but it was not enough to deny the ambitious Lagos team who now have the maximum six points from their opening two fixtures.
It was Ifeanyi Ifeanyi that put the hosts in front from the penalty spot before Sikiru Olatubosun doubled the lead for MFM FC.
Though Oboamate reduced the tally in the second half, it was not enough to deny the hosts maximum points especially after goalkeeper James Aiyeyemi produced a couple saves to help his side record another win.
Elsewhere, Kevin Itoya was the hero for Warri Wolves as he netted a last minute goal that gave his team a vital 1-0 win over hard-fighting Kano Pillars at the Warri Township stadium.
Pillars were already looking like they will steal a point away from Warri but their hearts were broken when Itoya scored from a rebound to help his side to three vital points.
Wolves had forced a barren draw away to Heartland in the opening-weekend of the season, Pillars on their part required a last-gasp effort to beat Enugu Rangers last term.
