League, NPFL kicks-off
today, February 20 with
only Niger Tornadoes and
Plateau United game slated
for the season opener in
Jos while the eighteen
other teams involved have
not only completed their
pre-season activities, but
are battle ready for action
tomorrow nationwide.
Enugu Rangers will face
Kano Pillars at the Sani
Abacha stadium, Kano,
while Sunshine Stars will
host Akwa United in the
match day one encounter
at the Akure Township
Enugu Rangers team

Ezeaku has confirmed that
the Flying Antelope have
completed a well planned
pre-season, just as they are
focused on the start of a
new season.
The Enugu-based team,
who are yet to lift a major
trophy for the past 32 years,
won’t start the season with
a brand new jersey as there
have been a little delay
on who will compel the
Flying Antelopes to wear a
kit designed by a local kit
manufacturer when they
face Kano Pillars on Sunday
at the Sani Abacha Stadium
Dolphins, now renamed
Rivers United, will host
Enyimba, in a game football
pundits believe is the match
of the day, with the Peoples
Elephants tipped to win.
Nasarawa United will
host NPFL newcomers
MFM at their adopted
home ground, the Abuja
National Stadium, and
the game promises to
be an entertaining affair
although the Solid Miners
as Nasarawa United are
fondly known vowed not
to underestimate the Lagos
club side.
Niger Tornadoes will
engage Plateau United in a
grudge match and the two
promoted sides will kick off
the season today at the Tin
City fortress, Rwang Pam
Stadium in Jos.
However, Heartland,
the Naze Millionaires, will
entertain Warri Wolves in
front of their home fans at
the Dan Anyiam Stadium,
Owerri while Abia Warriors
travel to Lagos to book a
date with Ikorodu United at
the Onikan Stadium.
