Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has called on all Christians to pray for the country in the face of growing insecurity and insurgency.
The NSCDC boss said Nigerians should disabuse their minds about Boko Haram having a religious colouration, stressing that it was purely a terror group.
The CG made the appeal when he received in audience members of the Celestial Church of Christ, CCC at the NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja yesterday.
“Our collective language should be peace, peace, peace. There is no alternative to peace. I call on Nigerians to disabuse their minds on the Boko Haram issue, as it has no religious colouration, but it is terrorism at its core ‘’.
The NSCDC boss revealed that as a Muslim indigene of Niger State, his family has both Christians and Muslims likewise a host of other families, who mingle together during Christian and Muslim celebrations.
Muhammadu implored on the clergymen to pray for the departed souls of NSCDC officers who were shot by police officers at the Cross River State Command as well as for the NSCDC and for himself to prevent a repeat of such incident in future.
Earlier, the head of the delegation, Superior Evangelist, Paul Jaiyeola, said they to felicitate with him following his elevation and prayed God to assist him carry out his assignment proficiently.
