Osun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Alhaji Tajudeen Balogun, has admonished Nigerians on the need to be security conscious.
He gave the admonition during an intelligence stakeholders forum organised by the corps, adding that security of lives and property is every one’s business.
Balogun stressed the need for all Nigerians to collaborate with the NSCDC by giving the corps timely information on criminals, with a promise that such information would be treated with utmost confidentiality and secrecy.
“Security is every ones’ business. I want to enjoin you to collaborate with us by giving us timely information on criminals and criminal activities around you. Such information will assist us nip criminal activities in the bud before they are executed.”
According to him, the NSCDC and other security agencies are working together to achieve a crime-free society, adding that it will no longer be business as usual for criminals as President Muhammadu Buhari is not ready to condone crimes and indiscipline in the society.
In his remark, the Head of the Intelligence Department, Mr. Jacob Ogunmodede, said the corps is concerned with the discovery of criminal activities before they are executed. Ogunmodede justified the invitation sent to all the invited stakeholders at the forum, saying they are crucial to the success of the corps in the area of information gathering.
In a remark, the Baale of Oke-Ijetu, Chief Agboola AbdulRashid, commended the NSCDC for a job well done and charged them to continue carrying out their duties in a civilised way.
Also the representative of the Chief Imam of Osogbo land, Alhaji AbdulRashid, enjoined the NSCDC to remain focused, consistent and allow credibility, confidentiality and integrity to be their watch world.
The stakeholders’ forum was attended by representatives of community heads, market men and women, okada riders, religious leaders among others.
