Osun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Alhaji Tajudeen Ayobami Balogun, has admonished Nigerians on the need to be security conscious.
He gave the admonition during the Intelligence Stakeholders’ Forum organised by the corps, adding that security of lives and property was every one’s business.
Balogun stressed the need for all Nigerians to collaborate with the NSCDC by giving the corps timely information on criminals, with a promise that such information would be treated with utmost confidentiality and secrecy.
“Security is every ones’ business. I want to enjoin you to collaborate with us by giving us timely information on criminals and criminal activities around you. Such information will assist us to nip in the bud criminal activities before they are executed and will be treated with utmost confidentiality,” he said.
According to him, NSCDC and other security agencies are working together to achieve a crime-free society, adding that it was no longer business as usual for criminals in the society as the new government of President Muhammad Buhari was not ready to condone crimes and indiscipline in the society.
In his remark, head of the Intelligence Department, Mr. Jacob Ogunmodede, said that the corps was concerned with the discovery of criminal activities before they are executed. Ogunmodede justified the invitation sent to all stakeholders at the forum saying that they were all crucial to the success at the corps in the area of information gathering.
In their various remarks, the Baale of Oke-Ijetu, Chief Agboola AbdulRashid commended NSCDC for a job well done, charging the corps to continue to carry out its job in a civilised way.
In addition, the representative of the Chief Imam of Osogbo land, Alhaji Abdulrashid enjoined NSCDC to remain focused and consistent and allow credibility, confidentiality and integrity to be their watch word.
