TRADING activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, continued on a positive note on Tuesday as the All share Index, ASI, added 0.20 per cent to close at 30,825.00 points compared with 0.72 per cent gained yesterday to close at 30,762.29 points.
Market Capitalization also gained N21.5 billion to close at N10.59 trillion compared with N75.3 billion gained yesterday to close at N10.57 trillion.
The NSE premium Index led five sectoral gainers with a 0.9 per cent gain to close at 1,658.80 points against five sectoral losers while the NSE Asem Index remained flat.
Also, investors on the floor of the Exchange yesterday traded a total of N707.9 million shares amounting to N2.5 billion in 3,787 deals against N266.7 million shares worth N3.2 billion in 3,366 deals exchanged on Monday.
On market participation, Trans-Nationwide Express Plc, topped 20 equity gainers with a 5.83 per cent or 7 kobo gain to close at N1.27 per share followed by University Press Plc which added 5 per cent or 26 kobo to close at N5.46 while Berger Paints Plc increased 4.93 per cent or 49 kobo to close at N10.42 per share.
E-tranzact Plc appreciated 4.73 per cent or 13 kobo to close at N2.88 per share as Honeywell Flour Plc increased 4.72 per cent or 11 kobo to close at N2.44 per share.
Conversely, SCOA Nigeria Plc led 28 equity losers as it depreciated 4.81 per cent or 21 kobo to close at N4.16 per share, followed by Caverton Offshore Support Group Plc which declined 4.75 per cent or 16 kobo to close at N3.21 per share, while May & Baker Nigeria Plc decreased 4.55 per cent or 6 kobo to close at N1.26 per share.
Julius Berger Plc dropped 4.49 per cent or N1.88 to close at N40 per share while Jos Int. Breweries Plc lost 4.43 per cent or 7 kobo to close at N1.51 per share.
