Bayelsa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, yesterday commended the newly appointed Commissioner of Information, Barrister Esueme Dan Kikele over the radical reforms he has made within the short period he has been in office.
In a press release issued at the end of the union’s congress held in Yenagoa by the Chairman, Comrade Tarinyo Akono, NUJ noted that, “Journalists are now more at home in reporting government activities in the state; noting that, the last two years were retrogressive.
“Barrister Kikile who is now being referred to as ‘the Game Changer’ amongst journalists in the state has redirected media management in the state for better days.”
NUJ stressed that, the commissioner has demonstrated purposeful leadership in the execution of his duties with a more friendly media disposition.
NUJ further called on the state Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson to provide the enabling environment and the necessary support for the commissioner to do his job effectively.
