A graduate of Medical Biochemistry from Delta State University, Abraka, and a batch ‘C’ member of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Miss Okuboarere Dortimi Patience, has renovated a block of classrooms at BLGEA Primary School, Sanre, Baruten LGA of Kwara State, as well the school’s concrete signage.
Okuboarere stated that her Community Development Service, CDS, project exemplified the spirit of selfless service inculcated in her by the NYSC.
In a remark, the NYSC member said she completed the renovation project on September 13, 2015, at the cost of N190, 000, which was donated by individuals in Baruten LGA.
She said the project was to ensure a conducive learning environment for children in the community.
Headmaster of the school, Mr. Abdullahi Abubakar, and chief of Sanre, Salihu Sani thanked the corps member for addressing such a vital issue confronting them.
The headmaster assured that the school management would ensure proper use and maintenance of the refurbished block of classrooms.
He disclosed that since commencement of the renovation, enrolment into the school had doubled.
Also, Parents Teachers Association, PTA, chairman, Isa Adamu commended Miss Okuboarere for her kind gesture, promising that regular supervision would be made to ensure good use of the facility.
Besides, he commended the NYSC for providing support to their needy through the scheme.
He recalled that since inception of the school in 1994, other than the state government through its agencies, the school and the community had never enjoyed this level of assistance from any organisation.
